John Mabey
John Mabey is a writer and storyteller whose plays have been published and produced across the United States and Europe. He grew-up in the desert but has called New York, London, and Amsterdam home for the past 10 years, now living in Atlanta and always writing with a cactus on his desk. He’s a nationally certified mental health counselor and draws on that background for exploring intersecting identities and relationships in his plays. John is also a published author on the topics of sexual identity and spirituality in academic books and journals, and this year was also published in two anthologies: ‘2021 Smith & Kraus Best 10-Minute Plays’ and ‘2021 Smith & Kraus Best Women’s Monologues.’ When not writing, John enjoys teaching and performing improvised comedy and true storytelling around the world.
